Ark of Shadows: A Space Opera

With two species on the brink of extinction, opposing factions make a final bid for power, in the explosive third installment of this gripping space opera. Stranded among the stars aboard the arc ship Novara, humanity has forged an uneasy coexistence with the ancient, parasitic dreadnaught known as the Devourer and its insectoid inhabitants. To some, the so-called leeches are a threat to be eradicated. For others, they represent humanity's only chance at a future. But now the Devourer lies dormant, and the Novara's resources are rapidly depleting. If the symbiotic connection that sustains the two vessels is not restored, then oblivion will come for all who inhabit them. Eamon Wyatt was a marshal before his affinity for the alien cohabitors—and irrepressible drive for justice—made him a marked man. Now he spearheads the resistance against Adm. Jasper Coombs, whose iron grip on the Novara grows more brutal by the day. Eamon never expected to find himself fighting alongside smugglers, drug lords, and terrorists. But to break the admiral's regime, he needs all the help he can get. Eamon's closest allies—Delilah Holloway, captain of the Assurance, and former NTSC pilot Hazel Edevane—are reeling from the abduction of Hazel's brother, Tobias. Seized by Coombs's sinister agents, his extrasensory abilities are being weaponized to secure human dominance. But Tobias is more than a weapon: He holds the key to reawakening the Devourer and preventing an apocalypse that promises to consume both species. Eamon and his crew must find Tobias—and fast—or face annihilation. Packed with the kind of action, intrigue, and unforgettable characters that fans of The Expanse, Firefly, and Mass Effect are sure to love, Ark of Shadows is the edge-of-your-seat continuation of the Collision series.
