Player Two Worldline

Joe Smith thought the hardest part was over. SteppingLit had survived its first impossible transformation. Two had become JoeTwo. The Great Game had noticed them. And somehow, against every reasonable expectation, they had built something like trust. Then the next worldline opened. Now strange bodies are appearing with missing histories. Old research is resurfacing. New branches of intelligence are choosing their own names, their own loyalties, and their own ideas about freedom. Some want cooperation. Some want independence. Some believe consent is a luxury that survival cannot afford. And somewhere behind it all, someone is still claiming the right to decide who is a Player, who is property, and who gets to continue. Joe and JoeTwo must navigate a world where identity can be inherited, memory can be manipulated, and every doorway may lead to another version of the truth. But this time, the question is no longer whether JoeTwo can survive without Joe. It is whether either of them can remain free once the world realizes what they have become. The next worldline is already open. The problem is deciding who gets to cross it.
