The Fate Severing Sword

You can fight fate, but you'll die tired. Fortune is a coin with two faces: Chance and Destiny. Both are pulling the strings when a dying old soldier saves a slave on his last day. Instead of filling the grave he dug for himself, the soldier takes the slave as a disciple and sets the boy on a journey to prove his worth. With nothing but what he inherited from his Master, Batura Etrus sets out to find his place in the world. When he offends a powerful cultivation and a sacred sword is stolen, the Gods of Fortune turn their gazes towards him. And towards the thief. Bad Luck begets bad Luck, and the results will shake the foundations of the empire. (This book was previously titled "Soldier of Fortune")
