The Deck has never lost a Review. Theo Marsh is about to be the fourth to try. Sixty-six days after the sky cracked open over Pittsburgh, the System writes a summons across the sky: the Gravedrafter will stand trial at the Table of Review, a card table above the clouds, judged by four thousand Auditors who were collected for being different, just like him. The game is called the Last Hand. The prosecutor is a seven-foot dealer with a mirror for a face. And every Echo Theo holds will be called to testify. But before the trial, a soft-spoken Collector called the Pawnbroker rolls in from Philadelphia with a caravan of desperate debtors, a case full of other people's cards, and a very reasonable offer: pawn your class to him, or he'll take it. Theo's Echoes are asleep. His friends are frightened. And Clause Nine says a Wild Card can only be played by staking something of equal weight. He knows exactly what the System will ask for. Every card costs a life. This time, the stakes are the first one he ever held. Inside Wild Card: • A courtroom drama played as a card game, with the dead as witnesses • A Pawnbroker villain who believes he's just doing business • Auditors remembering their names, a Beastmaster, a Mire Titan, and a stadium full of survivors who refuse to be called extra • The most emotional chapter of the series so far Book Three of The Last Draw. Start with Gravedrafter.
